Our own Jon Arroyo, Chief Mixologist for Farmers & Fishers and Founding Farmers, is going to be behind the bar at Farmers & Fishers Wednesday through Saturday nights mixing up a storm of hand-crafted cocktails. Come by to meet Jon and have him make you a classic cocktail, pick a new favorite from the Farmers & Fishers menu of original recipes and Tiki specials or pick Jon’s brain for something special.

Every year Valentine’s Day arrives with the question of where to go? This year, with Valentine’s Day on a Sunday, you and your special someone can celebrate on Thursday, February 11 through Sunday, February 14 …we’re offering our prix fixe Valentine’s Day Menu 2010 Thursday, February 11 and continuing through Sunday, February 14, along with a special selection of fantastic wines to make it a delicious and memorable evening. With the underground parking at Washington Harbour it won’t matter what the weather is, and close access to Georgetown gives you options for a little shopping before meeting your belle (or beau)!

Farmers & Fishers Joins Tap Water Movement

When Farmers & Fishers launched it added all sorts of new equipment and systems to the restaurant, but one we haven’t said much about is our tap water system. We’ve always used a Natura system to produce fresh, clean water. The machine filters the water without the use of chemicals and serves the water three ways: room temperature, chilled, or sparkling.

This means the great water carafes on your table have just been filled by your server and have never seen a bottle—creating no waste from emptied bottles, requiring no recycling of fancy bottled waters, and requiring no carbon offsets for the water’s transportation. Recently, Tack Back the Tap contacted us to join them in their effort to reduce the use of bottled water. Since we’ve been doing it from day one, we immediately signed up!

To mark the start of the New Year, we extend our thanks to each and every guest that has dined with us or held a special event or celebration in our restaurant – we appreciate the opportunity to serve you and hope to see you again very soon.

We are so proud of our staff and all the work that goes into making each day a success at Farmers & Fishers. 2009 was a good start for our new concept – and we’ve resolved to keep aiming higher and higher to make 2010 even better.

If you haven’t been by recently, stop in and see us – there’s always something good cooking and you’ll always find a friendly face behind the bar. Restaurant Week is coming, Jan 11 – 17th, so start making your reservations now, for lunch or dinner! We’ll post the menus in the next day or so.

Consider a change of pace for your celebration this New Year’s Eve – discover the great offerings at Farmers & Fishers! Join us for great food & drink in an easily accessible location, with secured underground parking, fireplaces throughout the restaurant, warm and friendly staff, and an inviting and relaxing setting to celebrate the start of 2010.

We are offering our regular full menu, as well as the Chef’s New Year’s Eve Dinner: a three-course meal with choice of house salad or soup, (butternut squash or roasted tomato), special Farm & Sea entree, including an 8oz Filet Mignon paired with a jumbo lump Crab cake, with a side order of whippers, fries, vegetable of the day, coleslaw, or Rice a Roni. For dessert, try one of our homemade individual mini ‘pies’ – a shortbread cup filled with your choice of Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Key Lime, Peacan or Banana Creme, topped with fresh whipped cream. A Champagne toast is included (one glass per person) and choice of coffee or tea and of course, complimentary party favors! $70/pp, alcoholic drinks, beer, wine, tax and gratuity are not included.
